Clinton County Head Start has recently been awarded a 5 star level for meeting all the requirements from the Step Up to Quality rating and improvement system. The staff has shown excellence in being a quality program in the following 4 domains: Learning and development, Staff Qualifications and Professional Development, Administrative and Leadership Practices, and Family and Community Partnerships.
Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) is a five star quality rating and improvement system that promotes learning and development for positive child outcomes and is administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for Licensed Child Care Providers. It includes a build-block approach to reach required standards in order to gain a 1 star, 2 star or 3 star level. Programs that have completed additional performance targets beyond the level 3 requirements are awarded points to achieve either a 4 star or the highest level of 5 stars.
