We’re thrilled to announce the return of our annual Christmas Stockings for Seniors program, and we need your help to spread the holiday cheer!
If you’d like to adopt a senior and bring some joy this holiday season, consider stuffing the provided stocking with thoughtful goodies! Some popular items include snacks, tissues, puzzle books, and more. Just let your heart guide you — whether it’s something cozy, comforting, or fun, every item will brighten someone’s day. We create stockings for both men and women to ensure everyone feels the holiday spirit.
To get involved, simply email Jane Newkirk at [email protected] by November 15th. She’ll guide you on the next steps and answer any questions you might have!
Thank you for helping us make the season brighter for our seniors. Together, we can share joy, kindness, and a little bit of holiday magic.
Christmas Stockings for Seniors FAQ
1. How can I participate?
Email Jane Newkirk at [email protected] *by November 15th* to adopt a senior. Jane will provide all the information you need to get started.
2. What should I include in the stocking?
Get creative! You can include cozy items, snacks, puzzle books, small games, candy, socks, tissues, notepaper, or even a gift card. You’re also welcome to add a Christmas card for a personal touch. Choose items that bring comfort and joy — every small gesture makes a big impact.
3. Can I make a stocking specifically for a man or a woman?
Yes! You can make a stocking for a male or female, or create one that is suitable for either. If you choose to make it gender-specific, please label it accordingly to help us with distribution.
4. Do I need to provide the stocking, or will one be supplied?
You’re welcome to use your own stocking — we love seeing the personal touches each brings! But, if you’d prefer to just contribute items, no problem; we’ll be happy to assemble them into a stocking for you.
5. When and where should I drop off my completed stocking?
Please bring your completed stockings to Community Action at 789 North Nelson Avenue, Wilmington, *by December 16th*. This ensures we have enough time for distribution.
6. How many stockings are needed?
We aim to create stockings for as many seniors as possible. If there aren’t enough stockings for everyone, we’ll focus on delivering to those in the greatest need.
7. Is there a specific budget I should follow?
The amount you spend is completely up to you! Any thoughtful stocking, big or small, will bring joy to a senior.
8. What if I have more questions?
Feel free to contact Jane for any further questions. She’s here to help and happy to guide you through the process.
