Conformance status

This site is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

How we test

We check accessibility using both automated tools and manual testing:

  • Automated scanning with axe-core across every page
  • Keyboard-only testing — every feature works without a mouse
  • Screen-reader testing (NVDA)
  • Checking that text reflows without loss at 320px wide and at 400% zoom
  • Verifying color contrast against WCAG AA thresholds

Privacy and third parties

This website sets no cookies and does not load ads or outside fonts. We count visits using Plausible, a privacy-friendly tool that uses no cookies and collects no personal information. The contact, volunteer, and Head Start forms load a Cloudflare spam check from challenges.cloudflare.com. It runs only on those pages. Our Donate page links out to PayPal; that is a plain link, and PayPal's own site is outside our control.

Known limitations

We're honest about what isn't finished:

  • Some downloadable documents (such as program applications, family handbooks, and the annual report) may not yet be fully tagged for accessibility. We're working through these, and staff can provide the information in another format on request.
