2026 Community Needs Assessment

Every few years, Clinton County Community Action surveys residents, clients, and community partners and reviews local data to understand the county's most pressing needs. The 2026 assessment found that residents' top concerns are:

  • Housing and homelessness, including affordable housing for families and seniors
  • Childcare, including affordable and 24-hour care
  • Recreation and activities for youth and families
  • Mental health and substance abuse services
  • Transportation, especially for people without a car
  • Senior services, employment, and food access

Survey respondents also told us what they love about Clinton County: its people, its small-town feel, and neighbors who help one another. 91% said their community is a good place to live.
